In April, the new school year begins for everyone. The elementary school students who pass the entrance test for Seiko Gakuin officially start school, with their first event being the Entrance Ceremony. Attended by parents and teachers, it is an important event for the newest students of Seiko Gakuin.
Also, an opening ceremony is held in April to welcome everyone back to school. Then, all students start to prepare for the upcoming Seiko Festival in May. |

On the first week of May, the biggest school event (Seiko Festival) takes place. After Seiko Festival, teachers and students are busy preparing for the Midterms of Term 1. After the Midterms, students go on school excursions. Each grade goes to different places for sightseeing such as Tokyo Disneyland, Kamakura City, and so on.

Regular classes take place.
July

The beginning of July is Finals Week. To mark the end of Term 1, a closing ceremony is held. All teachers & students attend this closing ceremony.
At the end of July, 7th, 8th & 10th graders go camping to Madarao Plateau, Nagano Prefecture. The camp usually stretches into the first few days of August. |

There is no school in August due to summer vacation. However, many students in the 9th grade go on homestays abroad. Canada and the Philippines are popular locations. Students join homestays to improve their English skills, as well as to be exposed to different cultures.

To welcome everyone back to school, a small opening ceremony is held at the beginning of September.
The event is the Sport's Day. It is one of biggest events of the year, after Seiko Festival in May. |
October

In October, students take midterms for Term 2.
After the midterms, 9th graders go on a field trips. This field trips' aim is to learn about society. This field trips contributes to the development of students into civilized young men who possess more knowledge about society and the environment. Additionally, it makes students think more about some of the serious social problems such as the aging population in Japan. |
November

An election for student council is held in November, and the head of the student council and other important organizations are selected. There is also a music festival. Some music clubs such as the brass band club perform at the school auditorium. Unfortunately, this event is exclusively for the teachers & students in Seiko and their families.

The beginning of December is Finals Week. To mark the end of Term 2, a small closing ceremony is held. Then, Winter break begins.
On the Christmas Day, there is a special free concert in the school auditorium. Teachers and students watch the concert. |
January

Term begins in early January. The entrance test for returnees takes place in early January. Then, the 9th graders would go on a skiing trip to Shiga Highlands, Nagano Prefecture, Japan for five days.
*Returnees are students who have studied abroad mostly because of their parents work, and now returned to Japan to continue their education in Japan.

The beginning of February is a busy time for school.
The entrance examination to enter the 7th grade take place. The candidates who successfully pass the entrance test will start school in April. Also graduation ceremony is held for our 12th graders, and a *Karuta competition for our 9th graders. *Karuta is a traditional Japanese card game. It is usually played in pairs. It tests speed, and also the ability to match their cards with the poem recited by the game master.

March

The Japanese school year ends in March. The Finals Week marks the end of Term 3, Finals Week happens. After finals, there is a closing ceremony.
Students go on various study trips in March. They learn about ancient cities in Nara & Kyoto; and visit religious spots in Nagasaki & Hiroshima. There are also New Zealand homestay program and Tech Study Tour to Sillicon Valley in the U.S. Then, Spring break starts! Students will return to school in April to continue studying in a new grade. |
