Seiko Sports DaySport's Day takes place every September in the school ground. It is one of the biggest events of the year. Students are divided into 5 groups: Blue, Yellow, Green, White, and Red. Students compete with each other to win the 1st place.
The atmosphere of this day is always intense. Students participate in many events such as dance and runs. It is also a rare occasion where the otherwise gentle, well-behaved Seiko Gakuin High School students become aggressive and competitive to win for their team. |
Sports Events
|
Most sports events are the same as what the other schools do but, events such as tug-of-war, relay, kibasen (mocking a cavalry battle by a man on top and 3 people supporting him), bo-taoshi (a game where one side wins by pulling down the pole the other team) are more intense than others as there are only boys. Relay Dress-Up
The best part of Sport's Day is the cheer group for each house. These groups perform in the middle of Sport's Day. Students practice hard and become more united as a team through their preparation for the big performance.
Also, there is a relay for clubs. Every year, students represent their clubs to compete in a relay. They wear unique clothes related to their club in this relay. For example, members of the Transportation Research Club run while holding a camera used for taking photos of trains. |
